Natalie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience as a therapist. She earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2005). Natalie has experience working with children, adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds.
Natalie seeks to help individuals on their journey towards wholeness and healing. She believes this can best be done within the context of a supportive and empathic relationship where the individual feels deeply validated and heard. She is passionate about helping individuals find their voice and heal places of pain that have been holding them back.
Natalie does this through the use of a relational model. She also uses elements of cognitive and behavioral therapies to bring about healing and change. She believes in co-creating a space with the client that is nurturing, safe and where the truth can be spoken.
I see great strengths in every person who comes into my counseling office, even when they cannot. Through the process of counseling, I help individuals recognize their unique strengths and mobilize those strengths to create a life of meaning.
I see such courage in the lives of trauma survivors. I carefully and gently lead individuals through their deep places of pain to help them heal and transform.
Areas of interest and expertise include helping individuals with depression, post partum depression and anxiety, generalized anxiety, bipolar disorder, relationship concerns, women’s issues, spiritual issues, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, chronic medical conditions and life transitions. Natalie has specialized training in trauma therapy and crises assessment.
Natalie loves finding ways to be creative with her children. She also loves to experience and learn about new cultures. She tries to be out in nature whenever possible and has a lifelong love of reading.
